So I picked this up and I have no idea what to do to get more science. Recovered from the remains of Jeb's crashed suit, his last EVA report read: "This is a most precarious situation." Thankfully the command pod with all its precious goo canisters landed safely - in his wisdom and experience, Jeb had deployed the parachute before taking his one last, small step.

He actually told me he had dreamed of this, once. His strong green hands couldn't hold on to the crew hatch, and he went flying, all on his own. "Maverick" Kerman, ever putting scientific progress above personal safety, decided that he'd have to collect one last EVA report - during descent into Kerbin's atmosphere. The ride back was much smoother than the last time, thanks to electricity! However, Jebediah T. Copious goo observations, crew reports and EVA reports were made and transmitted back home. Jeb's science spacecraft did a close flyby of the moon, at its closest point passing within 10km of the Munar surface. This allowed the Kerbal Space Program to research batteries and solar panels, so the next Munar mission was even more successful - barring a slight hitch right at the end.

unfortunately the ship's periapsis was still way the fuck away from Kerbin, so it looked like Jeb would get stranded in Orbit, with not even enough juice to turn on his in-flight entertainment screen! Oh no!īut this is Jebediah Timmolaeus Kerman we're talking about! All stabilizers switched off, Jeb waited until the craft was in a position in its - now circumkerbinal - orbit where its nose was pointed retrograde, and went to full burn to gently lower the Ap until it became a Pe deep enough inside the atmosphere to allow for aerobraking! For great success! Ran out of electricity on the first one, about when I hit my trans-Kerbin apoapsis, so turning the right way for the next burn turned out to be impossible. Science is fun!™ĭid two flybys of the Mun. It was one of those "Hmm, what should I play?" situtations. So, I finally kerballed again last night. Or maybe practice getting to the Mun and back with fuel to spare. Now to build something with my 700 Science! and maybe visit something beyond the Mun. Jeb has brought back raw science samples. Unfortunately I had to quicksave and retry various return burns because I had wasted a bunch of fuel fixing my Mun encounter. I may have also had a few too many batteries. The landing site wasn't really chosen in advance, but it basically ended up being a giant crater (that was thankfully still in sunlight).

Still using nose cones even though I think they still technically degrade performance instead of help it. This was after switching from pure boosters to engines + smaller boosters for better throttle control (the small boosters help overcome gravity quicker, but then you're in slightly thinner atmosphere for the engines). The rocket may not be pretty, but it got up with a full tank of fuel.
